Serving our Community for over 25 Years

The Bread of Life Food Ministry Outreach has been a vital part of the Ministry Outreach of Millersburg Assembly of God since 1995 and exists for the purpose of being a blessing to those in need in the Upper Dauphin County area.

Presently serving 85-90 families per month, this Ministry of Compassion continues to be a valuable resource to not only the families who receive the food, but also the Community as we all benefit together through the Bread of Life Food Ministry.

While the bulk of the support for “Bread of Life” comes from the generous giving of the people of Millersburg Assembly of God who designate a special offering on the last Sunday of every month, we are also appreciative of grants and the discounted purchase rates from the PA Food Bank as well as the generous gifts of food from Bethesda Mission, as well as various churches, grocery stores, and kind individuals in the area.

As the food is compiled throughout the month, the packing gets into “full swing” on the Thursday preceding the 2nd Saturday of the Month as volunteers gather in the Fellowship Hall of the Church at 7:00 PM to pack the grocery bags full of food. The bags of food are then lined up in the foyer of the church to be ready and available for Saturday.

Bread of Life Day is always the 2nd Saturday of each month and begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 9:30 AM.  Volunteers also are ready to load groceries in the vehicles as people drive through the parking lot.

God has truly blessed Millersburg Assembly of God to be able to host this wonderful ministry in our area. If you would like to have a part in giving of your time either packing food on Thursday and/or distributing food on Saturday, please feel free to give the church a call at 717-692-3904. Or, if you are in need of receiving food, you are encouraged to come and apply on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Emergency food can also be received by calling 717-692-3904.
