"Hams For Christmas"

 140  Needed by Dec. 12, 2009

$20.00 = 1 Ham
$40.00 = 2 Hams
$60.00 = 3 Hams
$80.00 = 4 Hams
and so on...!

$20.00 will provide money to purchase a Ham, so if you are able to give $80.00 we will be able to purchase 4 Hams for our next Bread of Life Food Ministry Day on Dec. 12 at 9:30 AM.

For over 10 years, we have been able to give Turkeys or Hams to nearly 150 families, and for the past few years, the Upper Dauphin Community responded resoundingly to the need, and every family in attendance received a Ham for Christmas.

The goal is to collect enough finances to purchase 140 hams.

Since all the hams will be purchased together in one location, it is requested that donations be made to cover the cost.

Two Ways To Give:
1.  Send a Check to the Bread of Life Food Ministry at:
Bread of Life Food Ministry
2261 Shippen Dam Road
Millersburg, PA  17061.

2. Use the link below to donate via PayPal.
A case of hams is $80.00 and one ham is $20.00.
Note: You may give ANY amount on the Payment Page.

All money received through December will go to meet the need of purchasing hams for the Dec. 8 distribution, and any excess funds received will be placed into the general operating fund of the Bread of Life Food Ministry to further meet the needs in coming months.

Feel free to join us on Saturday, Dec. 12 to help pass out food!

PICTURES FROM 2008 HAMS FOR CHRISTMAS

The Bread of Life Food Ministry Outreach has been a vital part of the Ministry Outreach of Millersburg Assembly of God since 1995, and exists for the purpose of being a blessing to those in need in the Upper Dauphin County area.

Presently serving 130-150 families per month, this Ministry of Compassion continues to be a valuable resource to not only the families who receive the food, but also the Community as we all benefit together through the Bread of Life Food Ministry.

While the bulk of the support for "Bread of Life" comes from the generous giving of the people of Millersburg Assembly of God who designate a special offering on the last Sunday of every month, we are also appreciative of the discounted purchase rates from the PA Food Bank as well as the generous gifts of food from Bethesda Mission, as well as various churches, grocery stores, and kind individuals in the area.

As the food is compiled throughout the month, the packing gets into "full swing" on the Thursday preceding the 2nd Saturday of the Month as volunteers gather in the Fellowship Hall of the Church at 7:00 PM to pack the grocery bags full of food.  The bags of food are then lined up in the foyer of the church to be ready and available for Saturday.

Bread of Life Day is always the 2nd Saturday of each month, and begins at 9:30 with a short service in the church, and then as people exit the church, they are given bags of groceries with the number of bags based on the family size.  Volunteers also are ready to assist them to their vehicles as they leave with their arms full of groceries and goodies.

God has truly blessed Millersburg Assembly of God to be able to host this wonderful ministry in our area.  If you would like to have a part in giving of your time either packing food on Thursday and/or distributing food on Saturday, please feel free to give the church a call at 717-692-3904.  Or, if you are in need of receiving food, you are encouraged to come and apply on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  There are income guidelines to be eligible to receive the food.

If you would like to give financially to the Bread of Life Food Ministry, please click here to go to our giving page to give through PayPal and designate your gift for Bread of Life in the memo field.

Or, you may send a check to:

Bread of Life Food Ministry
2261 Shippen Dam Road
Millersburg, PA  17061

Please note that the finances received for this ministry go directly and fully into the Food Ministry, and does NOT benefit the general fund of this church, or any other church.
